A £14.5m Private Finance Initiative led to the main phase purpose-built facilities of our new school opening in September 2005. The superb buildings are equipped with state of the art technology and new furniture and equipment.
The next stages will see the installation of an astro-turf pitch at Middle Lane and the creation at Cranworth Road of a new dedicated Performing Arts and Sports Campus. This exciting development will see The Campus house:
- a new Sports Hall and Performing Arts block;
- a Children's Centre;
- a Young People's Learning and Leisure Centre;
and
- an integrated professional service for local children, young people and their families (The Clifton Project)
is bright! Imaginative and hard work over a period of time has helped to raise the profile of Clifton locally and nationally. Both HMI and Ofsted have praised the school’s high standards. Attainment has risen at both KS3 and KS4. Targets and projections for future year groups indicate a continuing upward trend.
We are at a very exciting stage in our development. As well as the steady improvement in attainment, both achievement and attendance levels have also improved. The school is envied for the range of extra-curricular activities we provide with children taking full advantage of the many opportunities to extend their learning before, during, after and out of school. We are determined, however, to do even better.
The potent combination of a new build, major capital investment, Specialist Status and our continued Clifton Partnership provides a real opportunity, and responsibility, to transform children’s lives for the better. It is an opportunity we will not miss!
