Information and Communication Technology
ICT is taught in years 7 – 9 for 1 hour per week.
As ICT is constantly evolving, we keep up to date with new initiatives in the subject, and the learning experiences we provide our students reflect this.
At present, Year 7 students follow a course based on the QCA programme of study in ICT. This includes using spreadsheets, Control & Monitoring software and creative work involving animations and websites.
In Years 8 and 9 students are following a new course in Digital Applications – using an innovative on screen learning environment, which allows students to develop their skills in a fun way and encourages independent learning.
“Standards are rising and pupils are achieving well overall. GCSE results are improving quickly.
The school has very many more strengths than weaknesses ” - OFSTED 2005
